Hey guys..

I know this has been addressed in here but I can't seem to find it and need the help of you pro's.

When I am onsite... the first thing I do is a virus scan of a computer. I have no probs with earlier versions of windows.. ONLY WINXP. (HOME & PRO).

I want to create a bootable CD (NTFS FAT) and put my Virus Detection and nothing else on it.

Simply PUT.

Thanks for your help in advance...you guys are a real help to all of us out here.

Your post is very confusing. If you have a virus program that you purchased with the latest definitions then the disk you purchased provides you with an emergency boot as well as the option to update at any time, also the CD you got when you purchased XP is bootable. If you want an alternate boot option in case your CD becomes unusable then you can go to microsoft and do a search for floppy boot set. There is no need in either case to create a CD. You already have them. {:~)
There are three types of computer people: Those who can count and those who can't. {:~)

Which program are you doing virus protection with?
If it is norton you can save the boot files from the original disc (which is bootable). copy the CD to the hard drive. update the virus defs in the folder. Burn information to a CD using the bootimage you extracted from the original CD.
If not Norton then we will see what else we can come up with.

I am also interested in this procedure. I have AVG and to create an AVG boot disk requires 6+ floppies. I would rather have 1 bootable CD with only the AVG app & files on it.
